Brandon Basso earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He currently leads R & D at 3D Robotics. His past autonomous vehicle research involved controlling teams of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) performing collaborative search/track tasks. At 3D Robotics, he is developing aerial mapping solutions with autonomous fixed-wing and multirotor aircraft. The solutions are targeted at the agricultural industry for the purpose of increasing farm yield by providing farmers with accurate aerial imagery for crop analysis.
